為什麼要禱告？

「你們要恆切禱告，在此警醒感恩。」（西4：2）

基督教信仰中最矛盾的情形之一就是，雖然上帝無所不知，但他卻希望我們把生活中的大小事情都帶到他面前，向他傾訴。他既然都知道，我們為什幺還要禱告呢？

如果你也有這種困惑，也許十九世紀的佈道家叨雷能幫助你，他認為要禱告的理由如下：

因為有魔鬼的存在，禱告是上帝所指定用來抵抗魔鬼的方法（弗6：12－13,18）。

因為禱告是上帝讓我們能向他求告的方法（路11：3－13；雅4：2）。

因為禱告是上帝特地要讓我們「得憐恤、蒙恩惠，作隨時的幫助」的方式（來4：16）。

因為感恩的禱告是上帝讓我們從焦慮中釋放及得到「上帝所賜的平安」的方式（腓4：6－7）。

除了上述理由外，那就是帖撒羅尼迦前書5章17節所提到的上帝的旨意是要我們「不住地禱告」，因為上帝「盼望」我們和他說話。這些都是要禱告的理由。是的，上帝的確是全知的，但他希望和我們交流，與我們傾談。當我們在禱告尋求主的過程中，我們與上帝的關係就變得更親密了，那就是我們為什幺要禱告的最重要的原因。

禱告是上帝賜給人的最大恩典，

藉著禱告，上帝與人連結，

人更接近上帝。

我們最大的特權就是能和上帝說話。

以弗所書 6:12 因我們並不是與屬血氣的爭戰、乃是與那些執政的、掌權的、管轄這幽暗世界的、以及天空屬靈氣的惡魔爭戰。〔兩爭戰原文都作摔跤〕 

以弗所書 6:13 所以要拿起　神所賜的全副軍裝、好在磨難的日子、抵擋仇敵、並且成就了一切、還能站立得住。 

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 

Ephesians 6:13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 

以弗所書 6:18 靠著聖靈、隨時多方禱告祈求、並要在此儆醒不倦、為眾聖徒祈求、 

Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. 

路加福音 11:9 我又告訴你們、你們祈求就給你們；尋找就尋見；叩門就給你們開門。 

Luke 11:9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 

路加福音 11:10 因為凡祈求的就得著、尋找的就尋見；叩門的就給他開門。 

Luke 11:10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 

希伯來書 4:16 所以我們只管坦然無懼的、來到施恩的寶座前、為要得憐恤、蒙恩惠作隨時的幫助。 

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. 

腓立比書 4:6 應當一無挂慮、只要凡事藉著禱告、祈求、和感謝、將你們所要的告訴　神。 

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 

腓立比書 4:7 　神所賜出人意外的平安、必在基督耶穌裡、保守你們的心懷意念。 

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
